These are the questions we are asked most often. Select one, or describe your enquiry in your own words.
Which companies is this intended for?
Companies and project owners preparing a financing project in a structured way, who can provide the information, documentation, contacts and approvals the work requires. The scope of a mandate follows the position the project is in.
Which information and documents are required?
Typically company information, financial and operating figures, business plans, budgets, forecasts, the intended use of funds, existing presentations and further project material. The exact scope is defined per project.
Which documents can be produced or reworked?
Depending on the mandate: pitch deck, executive summary, presentation and information material, key-figure overviews and supporting communication documents, either produced from scratch or reworked in substance.
How does a mandate run?
In three connected phases: strategy and project structure, documentation and due diligence readiness, then go-live and communication. Each phase builds on the work of the previous one.
How is outreach organised?
Zumsteg Consulting can propose possible recipients on the basis of general, project-related criteria. The client decides which people or companies are approached. Recipients, templates and documents are approved in documented form before use.
Who negotiates and who decides?
Investment and financing negotiations, decisions and contract closings take place directly between the client or the issuing entity and the third party concerned.
Which services does Zumsteg Consulting not provide?
No legal or tax advice, no audit services, no personal investment advice, no asset management, no investment or transaction broking, and no placement of financial instruments as a standalone service. No investor funds or investment orders are accepted.
What does an international mandate cover?
The central investor-facing documents are produced in German and English. The English version is written for an international counterparty in language and in substance; it is not a literal translation.
Does Zumsteg Consulting raise capital, or prepare the company?
The service is preparation, structuring and documentation on the side of the company seeking financing. Investment decisions, negotiations and closings take place directly between the company and the third parties concerned.
Which documents are actually worked on?
Depending on the mandate: pitch deck, executive summary, key-figure and information overviews, and supporting communication material. The scope is agreed before the work starts.
Who decides on recipients, content and terms?
The client. Recipients, texts and documents intended for release are approved and documented before use.
Who handles legal, tax or regulatory questions?
Appropriately qualified external specialists. Zumsteg Consulting can coordinate their involvement but does not provide these services itself.
What happens after a project submission?
The information forms the basis of an initial internal review. Zumsteg Consulting examines the enquiry and comes back to clarify the next steps.
What happens in phase 1?
Strategy and project structure. Establish a basis solid enough to carry the rest of the mandate: in substance, in organisation and in the systems behind it. A clear project roadmap: the information in order, responsibilities defined, and a reliable working basis for the documentation phase.
What happens in phase 2?
Documentation and due diligence readiness. Work the existing company and project information into a consistent, verifiable basis for external discussions and closer review. A complete, consistent and professionally produced set of documents for financing discussions and closer review.
What happens in phase 3?
Go-live and investor outreach. Take the prepared project into investor outreach and keep the running steps coordinated. A communication process that can be followed: contacts, responses, approvals and next steps documented at every point.
Which documents come out of the work?
Depending on the current position and the requirements of the project, we produce or rework the documents needed for professional external discussions and closer review. Company, project and financial information is structured consistently and aligned across every document. Pitch deck, Executive summary, Key figures and information overview, Communication material, Due diligence structure.
How large does the project have to be?
Mandates are handled in a capitalisation range of roughly CHF 250,000 to CHF 100 million. Below that range, the preparation effort is out of proportion to the result. The range describes the band in which projects are handled. It says nothing about the availability of capital, about terms, or about whether a financing comes about.
What does it cost?
Fees are agreed per mandate in a services and fee agreement. No prices are published on this website. An initial review clarifies the scope of the work first.
How long does a mandate take?
No statements are made about duration or timelines, as no binding standard version is documented for this.
How large is the network?
28,000 institutional investor contacts, 6,700 start-up investors, 40,000 investor contacts in the wider network. These figures describe the size of the contact base. They say nothing about results, about commitments, or about whether a financing comes about. No one is approached before documented approval by the client.
Who does what in a mandate?
Zumsteg Consulting structures and supports the strategic, documentary and organisational preparation of the financing project. Commercial decisions, final approvals and legally binding negotiations remain with the client. Legal, tax and regulatory review is carried out by appropriately qualified specialists.
What is not part of the service?
Legal, tax and audit review. These services are provided by appropriately qualified external specialists. Regulatory assessments and statements on whether a structure is admissible under supervisory law. Accepting or forwarding subscription or investment orders. Conducting contract negotiations on behalf of the client. Zumsteg Consulting provides advisory and structuring services. No financial instruments are offered or brokered. Financing solutions are arranged project by project and, where appropriate, together with correspondingly regulated partners.
How do we start?
Once the contract is signed we guide you through the intake of the project. You receive a clear overview of the information and documents required, settle open questions in the onboarding call, and are supported while the foundations are prepared. If the capital requirement and the project are concrete, an initial review can establish where the preparation stands today and which points should be settled before professional capital discussions.
How is my data handled?
